What Meta Announced
At Advertising Week New York on October 6, 2026, Meta announced a set of AI tools for advertisers. Advantage+ creative can now turn static image assets into video ads, and advertisers with a product catalog can convert product images into product videos at scale. Customer Lifecycle Strategy is available to all advertisers, while AI-enabled audience discovery in Detailed Targeting is due by the end of the year.
Meta also expanded its Ads MCP server, which lets outside AI tools connect directly to Meta’s advertising systems to manage campaigns. Agentic actions such as changing campaign setup, targeting, or budgets are only beginning to be tested, and several features are still in beta.
Three Takeaways for Small Advertisers
- Video creation gets cheaper, so quality control matters. If every advertiser can generate product videos from images, the edge shifts to clean product photos, a clear offer, and a consistent brand voice.
- Your first-party data is the real input. Audience tools reward advertisers who know their existing customers. Keep customer lists, purchase history, and product data organized in one place.
- Connected AI tools need guardrails. Letting an outside AI tool touch your ad account is a decision, not a default. Start with draft-only access, set budget limits, and review before anything goes live.
Meta is making ad production faster, but faster is not automatically better. Businesses with strong creative basics and tidy data will benefit most.
What To Do This Week
Check which of these features are actually available in your Ads Manager, since many are staged or in beta. Audit your product images, write down your best-performing offers, and decide who on your team approves AI-generated ads before they run.
