What Happened

Per an October 26, 2026 report, Google added a small business hub to the Gemini app. Owners can work on branding, review finances and view customer insights in one place. It connects to Google's business tools and to outside apps such as Shopify, Canva and Xero, and it is rolling out worldwide to all Gemini users, including free ones.

Reported features include a saved brand kit so generated images match a company's look, turning receipts and spreadsheets into charts, and drafting product descriptions, newsletters and social media posts. The report describes it as a prompt-and-respond tool that does not act on its own.

Three Steps for Small Businesses

  • Set the brand kit first. Generated images and copy are only as consistent as the brand inputs you give. Settle your logo, colours and tone before you generate anything.
  • Review every draft before it goes out. Because it responds to prompts rather than acting alone, you stay the publisher. Check product descriptions and newsletters for accuracy. This is our advice, not a Google requirement.
  • Own your destination. Content drafts need a home customers can trust: a clear website with products, prices and contact details. A free tool speeds up drafting, but it does not build that for you. This is our view.
The Bottom Line

When every small business can draft content for free, the advantage shifts to who has a solid foundation: a clear brand, an accurate website and a process for reviewing what AI produces.

This Week's Move

Write down your brand basics (name, tone, colours, three customer questions you answer daily) in one page. It is the input you will reuse in any AI tool.
