What Intuit Announced

At Intuit Connect 2026, the main theme was AI handling routine work while people make the final decisions. Most of the new tools reach small businesses through their accountants, and availability varies by tool.

Agentic Books Close, a pilot, has agents follow an accounting firm's close procedures inside a client's QuickBooks file, handle routine tasks, and flag items that need attention. Nothing posts without review. Pilot sign-up is open through late November, and the pilot is free, but a paid add-on will be required afterward.

A Chart of Accounts Cleanup Agent proposes merging duplicate accounts, deactivating unused ones, and fixing account types. It deactivates accounts rather than deleting them, and it changes transactions only after the books-closed date. Intuit also said users can create QuickBooks invoices from live customer data inside Claude and ChatGPT, and a third-party account may be required.

Three Ways to Get Ready

  • Tidy your accounts first. Duplicate and unused accounts are exactly what the cleanup agent targets. Fixing them yourself means less for anyone to review. This is our view.
  • Ask your accountant about the pilot. Sign-up closes in late November, and a paid add-on follows, so ask what it would cost before you opt in.
  • Decide what needs your approval. Intuit's tools let firms set required fields and materiality thresholds, and a unified audit log tracks AI actions. Write down which transactions you always want to see. This is our advice.
The Bottom Line

These agents keep a human in the loop. Businesses with clean records and clear approval rules will get the most from them.

What We Build

We build the layer around your finance tools: connected systems, simple approval flows, and dashboards, so AI helpers work from data you trust.
